This Friday (March 5) at 6pm Father Jun has asked the children to lead the stations of the cross. Last week he asked the high school students to do the same. This devotion, popular in the season of Lent. The devotion began many years ago when pilgrims would journey to Jerusalem to walk the way of the cross where Jesus endured his final suffering before his death. Here is nice video documenting the history of the devotion: Stations of the Cross
So a good lesson would be to pray the stations of the cross as a family this week. If you can make it on Friday evening to pray with the larger group, please do so! If you cannot than join us on our Facebook live stream: www.facebook.com/stnicholasvb
If neither of them are options this week, then pray the copy that you can find here Stations for Kids and pray them on another day.
You can also use this version that has discussion questions to talk this trough with your children. Stations of the Cross
If your kids are not taking it all in and you want to watch a video and reflect/pray the stations than use this video: Video Stations
Lastly here are a couple of crafts that you can do with your kids to make stations and make your home a prayerful place: Crafting the Stations of the Cross
It is really important that our children know this story. This is the climax of the story of our salvation! So the more we pray it, reflect on it, and talk about it, the more it will become real to them.
