Stewardship Talk
Susan Harwell

Thank you for allowing me to come and speak , about the gifts I bring to the stewardship of this community. My name is Susan Harwell and I have been a member of St. Nicholas on and off since I was 17. Somewhere during a ten year break in being and active Catholic I realized something was missing, I needed to be a part of the community, the communion, the we time spend together. So I came back with whatever gifts I may have to bring, I joined the Lectors in the proclamation of the word, and also became a Eucharistic Minister, with its true sense of service. Yet I still felt the tug of work needing to be done. I became involved in the parish theater where I worked with some very talented and creative people, from that work I was asked to help Noreen Dobratz on the decorating for the first Mardi Gras Auction. The next year we did it again, then through default(Noreen moved) I became chair of the decorating comity, the job of transforming the social hall for this incredable event became mine I quickly enrolled Janet Grass as co-chair. Each year a small and dedicated group of individuals come together to plan one of St. Nicholas's biggest events, last year the auction raised in excess of $15,000 to fund the many ministries of St. Nicholas . You see by participating with the auction I know in some small way I have touched each of our ministries. The level of participation in the Auction can very greatly whether you chose to donate a treasure, or a professional service, or give of your time, or buy a ticket you see each small giftwe bring makes a difference, and will reach out to all the ministries we here at St. Nicholas have committed to supporting. You see we can each bring our own unique and unduplicatable gift to the community in the tradition started by the Maji on the very first Christmas If you would like to talk about what you can do to make this years Auction the best we have ever done please see me in the commons. Thank You
