STEWARDSHIP TALK

Hello, my name is Dorothy Traub. My husband and I have been members of St. Nicholas Parish for nearly forty years. We are the parents of six grown children and twenty-one grandchildren. I usually always attend this Mass because I feel that the talent and energy of the Folk Group adds to my enjoyment of the Liturgy.

I have been active in several ministries here at St. Nicholas. Currently I serve as a Eucharistic Minister Coordinator; Co-chairperson for the Liturgy and Ecumenism Committees; adult choir member; Parish Pastoral Council member; Christian Formation committee member and a member of the Funeral committee. The time I give to parish stewardship is just a small part of what I receive in return.
What value could be placed on the wonderful people I have been privileged to know and work with over the years?

Some of the ministries at St. Nicholas are not as well known to Parishioners. The Purificator Ministry is a good example. (The purificators are the cloths used to wipe the chalice at communion). Each week a volunteer washes and irons them on a rotating basis. At this time we need two more people to volunteer for this ministry. No experience necessary and men are welcome to participate. The Funeral ministry is also in need of more people to help set-up and clean-up after our funeral receptions.

I know that many of you are already involved in ministry and I applaud your efforts. St. Nicholas is a wonderful parish with dedicated parishioners. I will be in the commons after Mass to speak with anyone who may want to discuss getting involved in stewardship.
Thank you for listening!
