Stewardship Minutes

Susie Fleenor

Good afternoon!
I am Susie Fleenor and St. Nicholas has been our family’s church since my husband Rob and I were married by Father Noto in 1990. We have two children, Kristi and Ben.

First Peter, Ch 10:4 tells us that we should use whatever gift we have received to serve others. Consequently, our family has chosen ministries in which our talents lie.

My love for children has led me to volunteer with Children’s Liturgy for the 3, 4 and 5 year olds. Talk about a blessing! We read the gospel, discuss what it means and do some type of craft or activity relating to the story. My favorite part is when we do the Prayer of the Faithful by taking turns going around the circle individually praying for someone – their hearts are so full of love! Today we prayed for a mom, a sister, and an aunt who was in the hospital.

I have also recently joined a Women’s circle which I highly recommend if you are looking for a meaningful way to apply the readings to your daily life and you also have the opportunity to form close relationships with other women at St. Nick.

You’ll find my husband, Rob, at the sound board in the back of church every Sunday making sure the microphones and the folk group sound just right.

Our 11-year-old-daughter Kristi, has been an altar server for two years and she and her brother Ben also help with the Fellowship coffees once a month.

Being a member of St. Nicholas means more than just attending Mass. Our family has chosen our ministries based on our interests and our talents and I can definitely say that we have been abundantly blessed as we strive to be good stewards here at St. Nicholas.

I will be in the commons after Mass if you have any questions.
