Pastoral Care

Grief Support
A Grief Support Group for death of a spouse or loved one usually begins in January. The group provides a place to share feelings or merely listen.

Homebound
Parishioners take the Eucharist and share scripture and prayer with those unable to come to church. The ministers embody the care of the community for its sick members.

Hospital
These ministers extend themselves to those who are hospitalized. They share the Eucharist, scripture, prayer, and "listen with the heart" to the concerns of the patient.

M. E. Cox Center for Elder Day Care (click here for further information)

Located on the grounds of St. Nicholas Church, the M.E. Cox Center provides a cost-effective alternative to in-home client care. In addition to providing socialization, supervision and recreation for the clients, their families and other caregivers receive support, respite and education.

Nursing Home
Nursing home visitations are our primary means of outreach to the elderly with visitation on First Friday with prayer service and Communion and weekly visits.

Parish Nurse Ministry
Parish Nurses work with other nurses and health professionals in this spiritual ministry to promote health, healing and wholeness in the community of St. Nicholas.

Parents Whose Children Have Died
A support group for parents whose children have died.

Singles Again
This ministry serves those who are widowed, separated or divorced. Once a month a social event is planned, such as pot lucks, theater, dinner out, etc. From time to time, various speakers are invited to talk on subjects relevant to the group.
